The annual Reed Dance Ceremony is a Zulu event that sees tens of
thousands of young Zulu virgins (maidens) flock to Nyokeni Palace in
Nongoma where they deliver fragile reeds, symbolic of their precious
purity, to the Zulu monarch, King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu.
